Are we in 1998?

hahaha

Depends on niche/site.

You should be publishing link worthy content to your blog (yes, your company DOES NEED A BLOG). Link worthy content includes surveys, tools, stats, lists, news etc. - Connect with your main competitors and before long, you'll both be linking to each others content.

What I'm trying to say is that you'll get better results out of 1 polished piece of content that could go viral rather than submit 5 pieces of shit to article directories.

Like I said, it depends on the niche. I'm in the most competitive niche on the web, and NO ONE wants to link out if it's not an affiliate link. If this is the case with your niche, be savvy, and invest time/money/effort in contacting worthy sites in your niche in order to buy links direct from them.

My 2 cents.
